DATA DESTRUCTION

e-End^USA provides state-of-the-art destruction of hard drives and other electronic “data containing” media devices such as magnetic tapes (back-up tapes), CDs, DVDs, and floppies. Data sanitization is performed using three methods: hard drive erasure/overwrite in compliance with DOD standard 5220.22-M (or other approved software), magnetic degaussing, and/or physical destruction of the “data-containing” media.

Each item received at e-End^USA that has the potential of holding “data-containing” media is thoroughly inspected or demanufactured to locate this data. Although many companies are assured by their in-house staff that all data has been removed from hard drives, we continually find these “cleaned” hard drives containing a wide variety of private data including; personnel files, performance reviews, proposals, financial statements, salary / bonus information contact lists, credit card numbers, etc. Organizations are often surprised to find that e-End^USA has located private data and additional hard drives that were to be removed prior to our pick up. This valuable double checking gives our clients additional confidence in the necessity for our third party services. When data containing devices are located, which were not previously unidentified by the client, immediate notification is made with a complete description of the “data containing” device. The client then advises to either have e-End^USA return the media or destroy the data.

e-CYCLING

e-End^USA's main objective is to extend the life of all usable components, by either adaptive reuse or through component recycling. In the component recycling process, all equipment is demanufactured and the individual components and various commodities are recycled back into the manufacturing stream to become new products. Recycling in this manner saves valuable resources, raw materials, energy, labor, etc. Material that can not be reused as-is, or adaptively reused, is demanufactured in our facility in Frederick, Maryland. The demanufacturing process includes the dismantling and separating of all equipment into separate components and commodities for further processing and/or reuse.

Our demanufacturing process is extremely thorough and includes:

•  Removal of all batteries for recycling at approved facilities
•  Removal of all circuit boards for further processing at approved facilities
•  CRTs are sent to appropriate glass processing facilities
•  Various metals (ferrous and non ferrous), wire, cables, screws, and plastic,are separated into separate commodities for recycling
•  Miscellaneous electronics and other components are removed and sorted

2. Employee Recycling Programs: Working with our e-Green program, you can offer your employees the opportunity, and benefit, to combine their old electronic equipment with your company's and the entire quantity of equipment will be recycled in conformance with current regulations.
