Despite inclement weather, St. John e-cycling event a success
St. John Regional Catholic School and e-End partnered for their fourth e-cycling fundraiser
event on April 16th, 2011. St. John families and students dropped off two tons of electronics
at the outdoor event despite wind and rain throughout the day, preventing numerous computers,
televisions, printers, and other devices from ending up in landfills.

e-End and St. John have kept more than twenty tons of electronics out of landfills over the course of their four e-cycling events.
e-End Helps Frederick Attorney Donate Computers to Philippine School
e-End provided ten refurbished laptop PCs for use at the Negros Occidental High School in
Bacolod City.
Dan Rupli, a Frederick County attorney, traveled to the Philippines to add the laptops to other computers he has previously donated to the school. The laptops will provide more students with access to the Internet's invaluable educational tools.
Following these donations, Rupli and e-End will be working together to provide computers and other devices to schools in areas of the United States where additional IT equipment is needed and funding may not be available.
Banner School Learns about Recycling

April 13, 2011 was Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle day at Frederick's Banner School.
e-End president Steve Chafitz spoke to Banner students about the importance of recycling. He also emphasized the importance of properly recycling old electronics and discussed the dangers of putting electronics in the trash.
e-End Hosts Economic Development Business Visit

A group of elected officials and economic development representatives visited e-End today as part of the Frederick County Office of Economic Development's monthly business visit and business retention program. Attendees learned about e-End's mission and company history, and received a tour of the secure facility located in Frederick, MD. Monthly business visits give elected officials and economic development representatives a chance to hear about a business's achievements, concerns and opportunities to assist with doing business in Frederick County.

E-cycling Event a Success

St. John Regional Catholic School, in partnership with e-End, a Frederick-based electronics recycling company,
collected 6.4 tons of electronics during its recent electronics recycling fundraising event. E-end also donated a laptop
computer to the school for the student whose name was mentioned most often during drop-off. Pictured, from left, are

presented Fer a check for $600, which represented a portion of the fees collected for the fundraiser. This is the third
year the school has conducted the e-cycling fundraiser with e-End, resulting in more than 18 tons of electronics being
saved from the landfills.
e-End and Companies donate gifts, computers to Boys and Girls Club
Frederick, MD
A small effort to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Frederick County spiraled into a multi-company effort that doubled the size of the Burck Street location's computer lab.
Anne Goodwin, owner of Flights of Fancy in downtown Frederick , decided in November that she wanted to raise money to give the Boys and Girls Club a "technology upgrade". She had researched several organizations she might raise money for and was impressed with how much the Boys and Girls Club could offer to its 60 students.

Scout brings in 2.7 tons of recyclable electronics for Eagle project
Frederick, MD
A Walkersville High School student who plans to pursue a career in computer science put that interest to work for his Eagle Scout project.
Stewart Simons of Troop 1070 saw recycling of old electronics as not only an Eagle Scout project, but also one that truly benefited the community.
Stewart, 17, had to complete the project before his 18th birthday in March. He completed classes at the Frederick County Career and Technology Center in computers and has an A+ Certification and other achievements in computer science.

St. John School Fundraiser
Frederick, MD
For the second year in a row St. John Regional Catholic School and e-End partnered for an electronics recycling fundraiser to benefit the school. As part of the fundraiser e-End awarded a St. John student a laptop computer for winning a competition to encourage the largest amount of recycling. St. John had overwhelming participation from its families, students and outstanding participation from multiple local businesses and the surrounding community. The event was able to keep 4.2 tons of electronics out of the landfill.
Prior to the event the St. John Student Council Recycling Committee toured e-End's recycling facility located on Monocacy Blvd. The students were shown the process that e-End uses to breakdown, sort or shred electronics for recycling. They also had an opportunity to help e-End employees disassemble a computer tower that was being prepared for recycling.
Boonsboro Green Fest
Boonsboro, MD
e-End participated in the First Annual Boonsboro Green Fest. The event was established to promote conservation efforts and recycling within the community, the inaugural Green Fest featured a variety of vendors and exhibitors who shared their eco-friendly products, offer demonstrations and provided an array of recycling opportunities. During the event e-End collected over 3,200 pounds of electronics for recycling.
Myersville Speech and Tour
Myersville Elementary School
Steve Chafitz, President of e-End spoke at Myersville Elementary School. Chafitz gave a presentation to all of Myersville's students grades K-5 on electronic recycling as a kick off to a fundraising campaign hosted at e-End to benefit the school. The student who encourages the most recycling between April 13th and 18th, based on the amount of families that come to e-End to recycle and mentions the students name, will win a refurbished laptop supplied by e-End.
e-End also welcomed a group of Myersville Elementary School students, teachers and the school's PTSA president to tour its facility. The visitors were walked through the process that e-End uses to breakdown, sort or shred electronics for recycling. The students also had an opportunity to help e-End employees disassemble a computer tower that was being prepared for recycling.
Waste Not! Expo
Frederick, MD
e-End participated in the first annual Frederick County, MD Waste Not! Expo. The Waste Not! Expo was all about the increasing burden that trash is having on the finances and environment of Frederick County, MD. All who attended were educated by speakers from across the country and local companies that specialize in recycling and the "green" movement. e-End was proud to be the only electronics recycling company that participated in this event.
Business Recycling Event
Frederick, MD
On Earth Day the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, along with First United Bank & Trust, e-End and Document Management Solutions partnered to help dozens of Frederick County businesses securely recycle their old electronics and paper files. The event, which was hosted at e-End's Frederick location, ended with 1,800 pounds of electronics being kept out of the landfill and 1 ton of paper being shredded and recycled.

Myersville Elementary School Earth Week Fundraiser
Frederick, MD
e-End awarded the students of two Myersville Elementary School families refurbished laptop computers for winning a recent electronic recycling fundraising competition. The ceremony took place during the schools morning announcement to celebrate the overwhelming participation from Myersville families and their students, in this event.
During the week long event students, parents and friends of Myersville Elementary School were able to keep over 3,500 pounds of electronics out of the landfill. In doing so the school eliminated the risk of harmful materials such as lead, mercury, cadmium and many other toxins from being places in our landfills.
Milestone Business Park Earth Day
Germantown, MD
e-End partnered with Milestone Business Park, which is certified LEED Silver by the U.S. Green Building Council, for an electronic recycling event. The event was hosted at Milestone Business Park in Germantown, MD and helped educate employees of the business park on how to lead environmentally friendly lifestyles. e-End offered employees the opportunity to recycle all of their old electronics while destroying hard drives and other electronic media on-site to help them recycle securely.
